  • The ERP is a campus for smart companies and has been home to the city’s most innovative and best recognized technology companies since 1980.
  • More than 1,500 people work for 55 companies in the ERP. They are engaged in advanced research in medicine, biotechnology, software, petroleum research, cold-climate engineering, life sciences and nanotechnology.
  • The Research Centre One building has flexible lab and office space for second-stage companies. The facility is comprised of condo-style office space - each company has independent access.
  • The 50,000 square-foot Biotechnology Business Development Centre provides lab and office space to companies in the early stages of development of bio and nanotechnology research, products and services.
  • The Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) is a high technology incubator facility with an award winning design, showcasing distinctive architecture and offering a campus-like community. Architect Barry Johns won a number of awards for its design, including the 1992 Governor General’s Award for Architecture, the 1986 Canadian Architect Magazine Award of Excellence, and the 2000 RAIC (Royal Architectural Institute of Canada) Millennium Celebration of Architecture.   • Edmonton was selected as one of the top 21 intelligent communities by The Intelligent Community Forum in 2009. This was partly in thanks to the Edmonton Research Park’s vibrant community of technology and research-driven, start-up companies.
  • Innovotech, a tenant of the Edmonton Research Park received the 2010 Innovation Excellence Award from Edmonton Economic Development Corporation for their continued innovation in a risk-laden industry. Innovotech caters to a national and international clientele in medicine, agriculture and industry.
  • The successful Biotechnology Lease Program at the Edmonton Research Park helps to stimulate the development of early stage technology companies by offering affordable, flexible lease space.
  • Operating out of the Edmonton Research Park, C-FER won the 2009 ASET Technical Employer of the Year Award, for their outstanding contribution to technology and an organization that excels at supporting, promoting, utilizing and rewarding technicians and technologists.
  • The Edmonton Research Park, TEC Edmonton, novaNAIT, NINT (National Institute for Nanotechnology), NABI (Northern Alberta Business Incubator), and The Business Link formed the Regional Alliance Group to further establish Edmonton’s well-funded infrastructure for technology development and commercialization. TEC Edmonton is the only municipal/university technology commercialization partnership of its kind in North America.
