Visiting Friends & Family Campaign

The Edmonton Tourism “Visiting Friends & Family” campaign grand prizes require no purchase to enter or win. Starting November 1, 2011 through January 31, 2012 – 12 noon Mountain Time, e-postcards may be sent from residents in Greater Edmonton to friends and relatives outside of Greater Edmonton.*  Contest open to legal residents of Canada (except the province of Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited by law. Sending multiple e-postcards is encouraged, however sending e-postcards to the same friend or relative will not qualify for entry into the contest a second time. Draw date for Grand Prizes is 12 noon – Mountain Time, February 1, 2012. Winners will be notified via telephone and/or email and their name (and possibly picture) posted on this website.

*Greater Edmonton includes: the City of Edmonton, Lamont County, Leduc County, Parkland County, Strathcona County and Sturgeon County.

 

How to Enter Official Contest Rules

Send an e-postcard to a friend or relative within this website. Sending multiple e-postcards is encouraged, however sending e-postcards to the same friend or relative will not qualify for entry into the contest a second time. To be eligible to win, the receiver of the e-postcard must enter the contest online within this website upon receipt of their e-postcard. Once entered, the sender of the e-postcard is also entered into the contest. To be eligible to win, an entrant must complete all information fields within the entry form before the drawing deadline.


Prizes

Prize packages have no cash value, cannot be exchanged, returned or refunded and are nontransferable. (Market value will vary dependent on participating partner (see prize descriptions). One Grand Prize winner will be drawn at 12 noon – Mountain Time, January 31, 2012 from all of the entries received of those residents outside of Greater Edmonton who received an e-postcard. Prizes will be awarded by February 1 by 5:00 p.m. – Mountain Time and will be contacted via telephone and/or email. The sender of the grand prize winner’s e-postcard will also be awarded a Grand Prize.


Awarding Prizes

The winner is randomly selected from all entries received prior to entry deadline into the contest database. The random selection program will be executed by a representative of Edmonton Tourism at 9990 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T5J 1P7. Odds of winning are dependent on the number of valid entries received. The sender of the winner’s e-postcard will also be awarded a Grand Prize. Winner must provide consent acknowledging the non-responsibility of Edmonton Tourism and the prize suppliers and their respective agents in respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the prize.


Entries

“Edmonton Tourism” (A division of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation) is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected electronic transmissions of messages. Entries are not transferable. All entries become the property of “Edmonton Tourism” (A division of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation). Any attempts by an individual to access the site via either script or other brute force attack will result in that IP address becoming ineligible. Sponsor not responsible for incomplete transmission defaults, computer server failure and/or delayed, garbled or corrupted data transmitted by participants via the Internet. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel online portion of the Contest without notice if website becomes infected with a virus, is otherwise technically corrupted, or is overloaded. By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final, binding and conclusive on all matters.


Winner Notification

The winner will be notified via phone and/or email and will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release, which must be returned within 14 days of sending, or an alternative winner will be selected. No substitutions for the prize except by "Edmonton Tourism" (A division of Economic Development Edmonton). By submitting an entry (or by sending an e-postcard), you accept and agree to be bound by these rules.


Eligibility

The contest is open to all Canadian residents (except residents of Quebec), except employees and their families of Edmonton Economic Development Edmonton and representatives, agents, advertising and promotional agencies and persons with whom they are domiciled or any advertisers of the Edmonton Tourism 'Invite Friends & Family' campaign.


General

The contest is subject to all federal, provincial and local applicable laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted or prohibited by law. The personal information collected from you is collected under the authority of S.33 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will be used to administer visitor profile and tourism database collection for the tourism department of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation. Aggregated data will be used for program planning, evaluation and Edmonton Tourism collateral dispersal at the individual's request.
